Hirst Electric Company has been a small family shared business since 1986, owned and operated by Mike Hirst and his daughter, Jill McEldowney. As a team they have consistently improved to meet the needs and demands of a rapidly changing electrical industry. Their ability to identify and adapt to technologically advanced concepts helps position them as a market leader in Jackson and the surrounding areas.

Mike has been a Master Electrician for 47 years, starting his career at RW Mercer Company and eventually turning his dreams of owning his own business into a reality. Mike has given his life to Hirst Electric and has always gone above and beyond to make his customers and employees feel like family.

Jill has worked on and off for her father for over 25 years, first doing clerical work while diving deeper into the means of how an electrical business is run on a day-to-day basis. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University she came back to Jackson to work for Mike full-time, earning her Electrical Journeyman’s card in January of 2017 and taking majority ownership in the fall of 2015.
